bee1You know how we feel about our gorgeous and endangered pollinators so you’ll understand how delighted we were to see Friends of the Earth support the plight of our bees with their latest campaign.

Sign up to The Bee Cause and get involved.  For a donation of £15.00 you’ll be sent a bee saver kit that includes wildflower seeds, a garden planner, a step by step guide, a plant list, some postcards, a discount voucher for bee-friendly gifts and, our personal favourite, a bee spotter guide.

We’ve been completely obsessed ever since.  Do you know the difference between a buff tailed bumblebee and a white tailed bumblebee, or a red-shanked carder-bee Bumblebee from a red-tailed bumblebee?  Did you even know these bees existed?  We confess we didn’t but we’re keen to help safeguard their habitat and would urge you to do the same.  Our world will be a very different place without our pollinators so please, support our pollinators in any way you can.

Friends of the Earth are campaigning for bees too so while we’re all busy planting bee-friendly flowers in any patch of ground we can find they’ll be putting David Cameron under pressure to take Government action that will make a difference too. They have over 150 MPs who’ve already signed a joint statement demanding action from the Government and they are also targeting major retailers in an effort to get them to withdraw certain pesticides that are harming our bees.

Please get on board with this one and do what you can - plant some nectar rich flowers, sign the bee cause petition, make a donation, anything will help.
